Magz

When looking for inspiration I often turn to magazines, imagery is a huge source of inspiration for creativity and the more of that I can get the better. There's something about my favourite magazine arriving in the post, opening and being excited to turn every page (whilst lazing about with a good cuppa!). Running a blog, obviously imagery, writing and layout all play a massive part so It's great to source inspiration so it always fills me with ideas. I thought I'd put together a post on my favourites...

Cereal Magazine

'The magazine, published twice a year, is divided into city-specific chapters. Each chapter comprises stories on places, people and products, paired with striking photography. An interlude section, included in every volume, features a selection of style and culture articles.' (shop here)

Cereal also make City Guides...

I've now got every one of Cereals City guides and I LOVE them, the imagery is beautiful and information is equally inspiring...

'Our city guides provide a tightly edited selection of our favourite places in various cities around the world. Each online guide comes with an introduction to the city alongside essential information, and features anywhere from 10-20 locations, exclusively photographed by us and our team, and laid out in an editorial style akin to our printed city guidebooks. We currently produce printed city guidebooks for London, New York and Paris.' (shop here)

Kinfolk Magazine

'Delving deeply into home, work, style and culture, Kinfolk promotes quality of life and connects a global community of creative professionals from London to Tokyo. Since 2011, Kinfolk has become a leading lifestyle authority with a dynamic mix of print and online media, including a quarterly magazine sold in over 100 countries in four languages, daily posts on Kinfolk.com, bestselling books, plus international events and a gallery space in the heart of Copenhagen.' Darling Magazine

I think this art work by Artwork by Angela Duncan: http://www.angelasouthern.com/ sums up the magazine perfectly, no description needed. (shop here)

Oh Comely Magazine

'oh comely is a curious, honest and playful independent magazine. It’s a place to meet strangers, hear their stories and look at life differently – where our readers are our writers and our models, too.

Each issue we pick a theme and see where it takes us. We try something old, something new and something that scares us a bit. Then we present our findings in a beautiful, artbook style, putting new writing, photography and illustration talent at the heart of it'

Let me know any magazines I should check out in the comments...
